Introducing the Ubongo Card Game (Ubongo - Kartenspiel)

The world-famous puzzle game "Ubongo" is now a card game!

Introducing "Ubongo Card Game," a fast-paced and exciting card game based on the best-selling board game "Ubongo," loved all over the world. As the name suggests, which means "brain" in Swahili, this is a full-fledged puzzle game that will get you using your brain to the fullest.

Full brainpower! A simultaneous speed race

Ubongo Card Game is a game where each player places cards at the same time, aiming to complete the puzzle faster than anyone else. Choose the right cards from your hand and connect them like dominoes, and the game is simple yet has deep strategic appeal.

Game content and basic rules

  • Set contents
Cards: 108 (each card features 6 Ubongo pieces)
    Game manual: 1 book
  • Basic gameplay
    1. Each player receives a hand of 9 cards.
    2. At the start signal, everyone begins laying out their cards at the same time.
    3. Place the cards so that the two marks on each card are adjacent to each other.
    4. You can change the orientation of the cards freely, but they must not overlap two other cards.
    5. Once you have placed seven of your nine cards, you can shout "Ubongo!" to declare victory.
    6. The first player to achieve Ubongo gets 10 points, and the other players get points for the number of cards they were able to place.
    7. This is repeated for six rounds, and the player with the most points at the end is the winner.

Variations in how to play

There are two ways to play this game:

  • How to connect all the cards using only your own hand
  • A method in which each player connects their hand from one open card in the center of the table.

The basic rules are the same for both types of play, so you can choose the one that suits your mood and preferences.

The appeal of Ubongo card games

  1. Fast-paced gameplay
Each game can be enjoyed in just 20 minutes, making it perfect for those with a little free time or those who want to enjoy multiple games. The fast-paced gameplay will keep all players hooked.
  2. A game where everyone can participate
A major feature of this game is that all players play at the same time, so there is no waiting time and everyone can always participate in the game. This allows the game to progress while maintaining excitement at the table.
  3. Puzzle elements that develop logical thinking skills
While the rules are simple - connect cards like dominoes - you must find the optimal solution for how to place each card within a limited time. It is a game that can also be expected to have a brain training effect, and is used as a teaching material overseas.
  4. Enjoyable for a wide range of ages
This family game is aimed at ages 8 and up and can be enjoyed by people of all ages, from children to adults. It will help you deepen your connections with family and friends.
  5. Compact size for easy portability
Unlike board games, the cards are compact and easy to carry when traveling or on the go.
