From "Chainsaw Man," a story that combines overwhelming aesthetic violence with profound philosophical themes, comes a three-dimensional figure of Hayakawa Aki, an elite devil hunter from the Public Safety Department's Anti-Demon Special Division 4.

This work, produced by MAPPA, a highly acclaimed animation production company, depicts the world of the original work with vivid visual expression, and has been receiving a great response both domestically and internationally since its broadcast in October 2022.

Product Features

Developed under the concept of "look up," this figure is sculpted from a new perspective, ideal for display on a desk. Despite its compact size of just 11cm, every detail is meticulously crafted, from the distinctive topknot at the back of the head to the sharp gaze and iconic earrings.

Design and moving mechanism

Under the supervision of Kazutaka Sugiyama, who was in charge of character design for the animation, the figure has been faithfully recreated as seen just before the climax of the Devil of the Gun arc. The neck joint features a 15-degree articulation mechanism, allowing you to adjust the direction of your gaze depending on your display environment. The default 45-degree tilt pose has been designed to enhance the sense of immersion when placed on a desk.

Prototype production and modeling characteristics

Design COCO, who has worked on numerous projects in the Chainsaw Man series, participated in the sculpting of the prototype. Taking inspiration from the battle scene in episode 5 of the anime, careful attention was paid to the sculpting of the muscles and bones to maintain the character's essential coolness. The contrasting design, with the right hand clenched in a powerful fist and the left hand in a relaxed, natural pose, expresses two sides: combat and everyday life.

Painting and Finishing

The paint job was based on the color palette of the anime's color designer, Naomi Nakano, with particular attention paid to the texture of the skin. The three-dimensional effect created by the semi-gloss coating gives it a presence that is almost like a live-action figure. The wrinkles in the suit and the metal buckle on the belt are precisely shaded, beautifully bringing the line drawing of the animation to life in three dimensions.

Character Expression

Aki Hayakawa is portrayed as a complex character with a past in which her family was taken away by the gun demon. While she is a lone warrior dedicated to revenge, she is also a deep character who shows a warm, human side through her life with Denji and Power. This figure captures Aki's calm expression, which could be described as a "momentary gap."

Attention to detail

The shading of his jawline and the delicately carved wrinkles between his eyebrows simultaneously express the dignified sternness of a public security agent and the immaturity of a young man in his early twenties. The cigarette lightly held in his left hand is sculpted as an important item that evokes his fate with Himeno-senpai. The slight distortion of the hem of his suit adds a sense of realism to the actual combat situation, conveying the everyday life of a devil hunter.

This figure is a work of art that beautifully expresses Aki's dual nature: her outward appearance as a cold-hearted warrior, and her inner warm humanity.
