A Jedi's epic adventure against the dark side of the galaxy

"STAR WARS Jedi: Survivor" is an action-adventure game developed by Respawn Entertainment and published by Electronic Arts on April 28, 2023. It is the sequel to the popular title "STAR WARS Jedi: Fallen Order" (PS4 version released in September 2024).

Directed by Stig Asmussen, development began in late 2019 and took approximately three and a half years. The music was composed by Gorey Balch, Stephen Burton, and Nick Lovells, creating a spectacular musical world unique to Star Wars.

■The story of a Jedi who never gives up even in desperate situations

Set five years after the events of the first film, the story follows Jedi Knight Cal Kestis (played by Cameron Monaghan), a survivor of the Imperial purge who continues his desperate fight in a galaxy that is falling into darkness. Driven to the edge of the galaxy by the Empire, Cal must defend himself, his allies, and the legacy of the Jedi, surrounded by threats old and new.

Cal Kestis has grown from a Padawan who survived the Jedi Purge to a formidable Jedi Knight. Five years after the events of the previous film, he is working with Saw Gerrera's rebel forces on missions against the Empire. After one such mission, he discovers ruins from the High Republic era and learns about a lost planet called Tanaloa.

Cal's companion, BD-1, is a small droid who is indispensable in combat and exploration. He provides multi-functional support, hacking enemy droids and healing Cal with stim canisters. A new character, Bord Akhna, appears as a mercenary with a daughter, Kata, and accompanies Cal on his journey. However, it seems he has a hidden secret.

Sele Junda was Cal's mentor in the previous film, but in this one, she works to protect the Jedi through an organization called the Hidden Path. Meryn is a survivor of the Sisters of Night on Dathomir and a powerful ally who fights alongside Cal.

■ Evolved lightsaber battles and exploration elements

STAR WARS Jedi: Survivor expands on the foundations of its predecessor, evolving in every way. The biggest feature is the battle system, which allows players to use five different lightsaber stances. In addition to single-bladed, double-bladed, and dual-wielded, new blaster lightsabers and crossguards (Kylo Ren style) have been added, expanding the range of strategic combat.

Cal's Force powers have also been significantly enhanced, allowing him to overwhelm his enemies with abilities such as "Force Throw," "Force Push," and "Force Pull." Exploration is also enhanced, with Metroidvania-style level design allowing new areas to be unlocked based on Cal's skills and abilities.

The number of means of transportation has increased, and in addition to wall running and double jumping, grappling hooks, vehicles, mounts, etc. have been added, allowing you to freely explore the vast planet. Customization elements have also been greatly expanded, allowing you to change Cal's hairstyle, clothing, lightsaber parts, and the appearance of his companion droid BD-1 to your liking.
