The Harry Potter series is a globally popular fantasy novel series created by J.K. Rowling, with a total of seven volumes published between 1997 and 2007. The story, which revolves around the battle between the young wizard Harry Potter and his nemesis, the dark wizard Lord Voldemort, was adapted into a film that became a social phenomenon around the world.

One of the story's key characters is Nagini, a long, green female snake who appears as Lord Voldemort's pet. However, in the later spin-off series, Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them, Nagini is revealed to be more than just a snake; she is a woman cursed with a blood curse known as "Maledictus," which, over time, will eventually permanently transform into a beast—in Nagini's case, a snake.

Around 1927, Nagini was a performer at the magical circus "Circus Arcanus," possessing the ability to alternate between human and snake form. Later, somehow, she met Lord Voldemort and became his most trusted companion.

Voldemort had a special attachment to Nagini, and when he murdered Ministry employee Bertha Jorkins, he made her one of his Horcruxes, creating a magical bond between the two that reportedly allowed Voldemort to communicate with her telepathically as well as in Parseltongue.
