In the midst of the greatest conflict in human history, victory will be won by those who can outmaneuver their enemies not only on traditional battlefields, but also on more unconventional ones. Do you have the skills to juggle espionage, lies and supplies for your country?

Game Overview

ALS: Spies, Lies & Supplies is a two-player competitive card game and the sequel to the critically acclaimed original game, Air, Land & Sea. Players take on the role of commander-in-chief of their country and aim to win the entire war by winning a series of battles. The game is a standalone product that can be played on its own, but can also be combined with the original game to enjoy new battles and game modes. The game takes about 20 minutes to play and is aimed at players aged 14 and over.

Objectives and basic rules of the game

In each battle, players win by controlling two of the three battlefields (Intelligence, Diplomacy, and Economics) or by forcing their opponent to retreat. To control a battlefield, the total strength of your battle cards on that battlefield must exceed the total strength of your opponent's battle cards. At the start of a battle, each player receives a hand of six cards. You cannot draw new cards during battle, so you'll need to devise the best strategy possible with the limited cards in your hand. Players take turns playing one Battle Card at a time, and the battle continues until all cards have been played or one player withdraws.

The key to strategy

The appeal of ALS: Spies, Lies & Supplies lies in its deep strategic nature. The order in which you play your Battle Cards will have a major impact on your outcome, so careful planning is required.

  • Face up: Placing the card on the corresponding battlefield activates its tactical ability.
  • Face Down: Acts as a wild card that can be placed on any battlefield, but has a strength of 2 and does not activate any tactical abilities.

Also, you don't have to continue the battle to the end. If you determine that you are at a disadvantage, strategic withdrawal is also an important option. Sometimes retreating can prevent your opponent from winning completely, leading to a long-term victory in the war. Victory points are awarded based on the outcome of each battle, and the first player to reach 12 victory points wins the war.

Worldview and Battlefield

Set against the backdrop of the greatest conflict in human history, players will fight on traditional battlefields as well as more unconventional ones. ALS: Spies, Lies & Supplies introduces three new battlefields:

  • Intelligence (Spies): The battlefield of information warfare and espionage
  • Diplomacy (Lies): The Battlefield of Diplomacy and Strategic Deception
  • Economics (Supplies): A battlefield of resources and supplies

By combining it with the original game's "Air," "Land," and "Sea," you can develop even more diverse strategies.

Scalability and Variation

While ALS: Spies, Lies & Supplies can be enjoyed as a standalone game, combining it with the original game, Air, Land & Sea, opens up even more possibilities for play. Using both sets allows for more complex and strategically intensive battles, including playing different battlefield combinations and using five battlefields simultaneously in Epic Mode. This greatly increases the replayability of the game.
