Game Preparation
- Place the etiquette board in the center of the table
- Place the countdown board on top of the manners board and place the moon piece on the leftmost square.
- Shuffle the 78 Noise cards and place them face up in five locations on the Manner Board.
- Place the remaining cards face down near the Manor Board.
- From the 10 treasure tiles, select 7 without symbols, shuffle them, and stack them face down.
- Place the five ghost tokens and a tambourine in front of the player who will be the ghost in the first round.
How to play the game
- The ghost player draws one of the five ghost tokens and checks it without showing it to the other players.
- The ghost says "Boo" and then uses a tambourine to make a noise, allowing the player to guess the noise card that corresponds to the token they drew.
- When you're done making the sound, say "boo" again to indicate the end of the sequence.
- The other players open their eyes and discuss which card the ghost is referring to based on the sound he made.
- Once an agreement is reached, the ghost reveals the token and checks whether the card chosen by the player is correct.
- If you answer correctly, you will get a treasure tile, if you answer incorrectly you will not find any treasure.
- Move the moon piece forward one space and proceed to the next round.
How to use a tambourine
The ghost player can freely use the tambourine to create sounds. They can make sounds in a variety of ways, such as by tapping, rubbing, or changing the rhythm. This allows them to express the sounds of various situations and objects depicted on the cards.
For a more challenging game, use the "Fiery Night" side of the countdown board, where you play three treasure tiles with symbols in addition to the other seven, and as the game progresses, the number of cards you must hit in one turn increases.
Ending the Game and Scoring
When the moon piece reaches the last square, dawn breaks and the final turn begins. At the end of the game, you count the number of stars on the treasure tiles you have acquired to determine your performance.
